Select the Cashier Maintenance program from the EPOS menu.
To setup new cashier details, select ADD A NEW CASHIER.
If the cashier is likely to be working in all locations, then select the default 'All' for POS Location.
If they are only ever going to be working at one branch the click on the down arrow for the drop down of all store locations and choose the one appropriate.
Enter the cashier name and their main sign on code, e.g. 6121. If you are using a password, enter it here, or leave blank if none is required.
Or,
If you are using Dallas Key sign on, enter the Dallas Key Code found on the Dallas Key.
Any comments on the cashier may be entered here, e.g. works fulltime.
Do not enter anything against the EFT Login or Password fields.
Ensure the cashier is ticked as Active.
Certain cashiers will have higher authority and therefore more responsibility than others, for example a full time supervisor is more likely to have full permissions for all till functionality, than a casual member of staff who works on match days only.
Check the box against the options required, or if the cashier is to have full permissions use the Select All button.
Select the Update Cashier Details Only button once you're happy with the details entered but don't wish them to go to the till at this point. If you are happy with the details entered and want them to go to till straight away, select Update Cashier Details & Send To Till.
Another way of entering a new cashier is to select an existing cashier from the drop down menu.
In the next screen, you are able to select the option ADD A NEW CASHIER BY COPYING THIS ONE.
On selecting this option a new record is opened up where all permissions are the same; all that is needed is for the new cashier’s name and code/password to be entered.
Once in Cashier Maintenance, select the cashier whose details you wish to amend.
In the example below, this user has been stripped of most Permission Options.
If this user was to leave his login could be blocked entirely by unchecking the Cashier Active box.
