How to Add a New Button on the till



Run Stockade SQL software on your Computer.


Make sure the correct Server Name and Database Name is selected.

Enter User Name and Password provided for you.

Select OK.


Select Maintenance.

Choose POS Buttons....


Select Edit..

Select Edit Buttons....


Select the AddButton on the top menu:



Place the cursor where you wish to place the button.

Left click on your mouse button to fix the button.


The button is now fixed.


On the Properties section on the right hand side, you can:

-  Input the PLU Data for the button to work. This is the product you wish to assign to the button.

-  Change the colour of the button

-  Input the text you wish to display on the button

-  Change the size of the text in the button


Button Type -  make sure PLU is selected.

Data -  enter the barcode of the product you wish to assign to this button or click on the drop down arrow to search for the product you wish to assign to this button.


Enter the product description name on the Filter box and search for the product.

Select the product that you wish to assign to this button. i.e. Foam Hands 2010.

Click Select button.


The description will automatically display on the button.           

If you wish to edit the description on the button, change the Text on the right hand side.



Select Save to save the changes made.


Exit the program safely once you are happy with the changes.

Creating a Sub Page


The above image shows the till One Shot Menu.


Extend the One Shot screens and One shotbuttons then select to add New Page.


To add a new Sub Page, select New Page.

The name of the page will be default to Page 1, you can rename this page to make it specific to the products you going to add in this page. i.e. Scarves.

Once you have renamed the page, you can start to add the scarves buttons.

Select the AddButton on the top menu:



Place the cursor where you wish to place the button.

Left click on your mouse button to fix the button.


The button is now fixed.

Select Data to search for the product you wish to assign to this button.


Search the scarf that you wish to add and select the scarf.


The Riverside Stand Scarf button has been added to the Scarves page.

You can edit the text, change button and text colour using the Properties tools on the right hand side. Carry on adding all the scarves buttons on the page.


You can use the CopyButton tool from the top menu to copy an existing button. This will save your time if you are creating the same coloured buttons. Ensure you then change the PLU of the button by selecting the correct product.


Once you have added all the scarves buttons, ensure you select to save the file.


You can either select to Save or SaveAll.


Creating and Linking a One Shot Button to a Sub-Page


Create a new button using the button creation tool and name it Scarves. Edit the colour if you wish.


On the right hand side Properties tools select the following:

Button Type: SubPage

Data: Scarves (this is the page which you have created)


Select SaveAll to save your progress.



Adding Top Right User Buttons

If you only want to have few product buttons displayed on the screen, you can add these to the top right user screen.

Instead of displaying a bigger screen with only few buttons, it will display a small screen.

This can be used if you have a few selections of programmes or caps.


Expand Sales screen and then Top right user buttons screen.

Select to add a new page by selecting NewPage.


The name of the page will be default to Page 1, you can rename this page to make it specific to the products you going to add in this page. i.e. Programmes.

Once you have renamed the page, you can now start to add the programmes buttons.

Select the AddButton on the top menu:



Place the cursor where you wish to place the button and left click on your mouse button to fix the button.

Select Data to search for the product you wish to assign to this button.


Search the programme that you wish to add and select the programme.


The Team GB Programme button has been added to the Programme page.

You can edit the text, change button and text colour using the Properties tools on the right hand side. Carry on adding all the programmes buttons on the page.

Creating and Linking a One Shot Button to a Top Right User Buttons


Select Add Button to add a new button.

Create a new button using the button creation tool and name it Programmes. Edit the colour if you wish.


On the right hand side Properties tools select the following:

Button Type: Page

Data: Programmes (this is the page which you have created)


Select SaveAll to save your progress.

Changing the Colour of the Button


Click on the empty space next to Colour and select the colour you wish to give the box from the colours provided.


Select Save to save the changes made.


Exit the program safely once you are happy with the changes.

Changing Text Colour of the Button


Click on the empty space next to TextColour and select the colour you wish to assign to the text from the colours provided.


Select Save to save the changes made.


Exit the program safely once you are happy with the changes.

Adding Images to a Button

Images can be added to the button by using the button image property. This brings up a new window called Select Image. Here the user can select to “Load Image” which will allow the user to search for an image stored on their PC and add it to the button.



Text and Images



New fields have been added to the list of properties which allow the user to define exactly where they would like the text and image to be positioned within the button.


Image Alignment and Text Alignment both allow the user to define which corner of the button they would like to position the item. This is done by selecting the drop down button which produces a selection of buttons that can be used to position the text or image. In the example below you can see that the button on the left, in the middle of the 3 has been pressed, which shows in the properties dialog as “Middle Left”. The positions of the buttons in the drop down directly translates to where you would like to put the text or image on the button.


You can also define the relation of the text to the image using the drop down in the “Text to Image Relation”. Options available are:

Overlay - As you would image, places the text directly over the image.

Image Above Text - Places the text below the image

 Text Above Image - Place the text above the image

Image Before Text - Places the text to the right of the image

Text Before Image - Places the text to the left of the image

Changing Text Size of the Button


Click on the empty space next to TextSize and select the size you wish to give the text from the sizes provided.


Select Save to save the changes made.


Exit the program safely once you are happy with the changes.

Downloading the Button to Stockade SQL

Sign in to the Master till of the Branch. This is normally till 1 on the Branch.


Select Menu button.


Select Exit button.


Select Yes to Exit Till Procedures.


Run Stockade SQL.


Enter User Name and Password provided for you.

Select OK.


Select Batch Jobs.... 


Select buttons to branch101.

Note: The description might be different for some sites. Instead of Buttons it is named Keyboard.

Select Edit..


Select POS SQL Actions tab.

Make sure the Buttons and PurgeButtons is selected.

Select Close.


Select Run 


After it has completed running, select Close.


Log Out and safely Exit StockadeSQL.


Run the TillApplication to check if the button has been imported to the till, it is active and working as it should.


Checking the Button

Signin using the credentials provided.


Select One Shots.


Select Scarves.


This is how it shows after running the buttons download.

All the new Scarves buttons are now visible.

Select a button to check if it works and displays the product on the SalesScreen.

For this example, Riverside Stad Scarf will be selected.


It can be seen that the button works perfectly as the product is displayed on the Sales Screen.
