Responsive Sidemenu Images (Responsive Header)

Responsive Sidemenu Images (Responsive Header)

Similar to the desktop header, you can now upload images for top menus and web departments for the mobile site.

These images will be displayed within the Responsive Sidemenu, creating a more engaging and visually consistent browsing experience.

How to Setup

These images need to be uploaded in the same place as the desktop images:

For Web Department/ Sub Department images:

  • Customer Order Setup > Web Department / Sub department Maintenance > […] > Responsive Alternative / Dropdown Image

    • We suggest 200x200 dimensions, file size under 100 kb

    • Please note that by default these images will display as round images (corners are hidden)

To add/update the Top Menu Image:
  • Customer Order Setup > Web Department / Sub department Maintenance > Maintain MenuBar > Responsive Image 1

  • We suggest 800x250 dimensions, file size under 100 kb
  • Feel free to experiment with other dimensions, just bear in mind this will be limited to max 800px width and max 250px height.
  • A link can also be setup using the same field as for the Desktop Menu Image 1

Further Behaviour Details

Please note that these images work completely independently of the desktop images so they do not influence each other in any way.

In order to maintain a good layout there are a few new behaviours to be aware of:

  • By default there will be no changes in the look and feel

  • As soon as a responsive image is uploaded for a web department, all of its' siblings departments in the same topmenu will try to display their own image

  • The “sibling” departments where no image is uploaded, will display the “product image coming soon” thumbnail image

  • This is to maintain design consistency on the respective menu

  • Additionally, on departments where there is an image uploaded, the subdepartments list will have left-indentation

Potential Problems

  • Whilst unlikely it may be possible for you to see something like this, where the Maximum Image Size is not specified with any dimensions. In this scenario you would need to contact Support regarding image dimensions setup specifically for these images
