Create Archive Departments
within File Maintenance > Department/Sub Department Maintenance you can create some new Departments
called "Archive" and for the Subdepartment you add some sub departments based on how you want to report on the data.
Product Amendment Export/Import
within Stock > Product Amendment Export/Import you can export the products and manually change the department and sub department to fit within your new Archive department and sub departments you can then use the same program to import the CSV fille again to update all the products in one go.
Adjusting the Stock
Before you can make the products inactive you have to make sure no stock is against the products. you can use either the Stock Adjustments (Stock > Adjustments) or the Stocktake (Stocktake > Freeze > Stocktake Entry) to remove any remaining values of the stock.
Active/Inactive Maintenance
once the products have no stock on them you can use the Active/Inactive Maintenance (Stock > Active/Inactive Maintenance) to make the archive products inactive in one go.
