Creating a Homepage Carousel - Image, Product, Shop By Player

Creating a Homepage Carousel - Image, Product, Shop By Player

A carousel of images or products can be created using Feature Tab Maintenance.

The simplest option is to create a Product Carousel

Please note that the facility will only allow you to set up one product carousel on the homepage. However there is an option to create another carousel which will work the same way but detail of the product is not shown.

Under Customer Order Setup go into Feature Tab Maintenance

Select Add a New Tab

  • File Name - this can be anything for you to be able to locate the relevant feature tab easy updating. This does not show on the website.
This has been added as Product Carousel so I know this particular setup is a specific product carousel

  • Tab Title - this will be shown on the website

  • Section Types - you can set how many products are shown in the carousel depending on the size of the device.  ***For Product carousel this is set as a standard and updating images in a row will not change how many products shown in a row***

  • Product Carousel - when selected, you will see an option to add in the products - click into the field to add in the products you want to show in the carousel.

  • Then ensure you make this active.

If you already have a product carousel setup on the homepage but you still want another carousel then you can use the carousel option on Feature Tab Maintenance

The file name will need to be remembered here as you need to go to another program and add in the images.

So once this is set up you need to go to the Homepage Images tab under Web Pages and Email Text.

Select Add New

There are a couple of ways that the carousel can work. You can have the option so that if the customer clicks on the image it links to the product page or to have the option to Quick Buy which means a smaller window with the product detail will show where you can add the size and adds to basket.

Firstly the department is the filename you have created for this carousel. Select the required department.

If you want the image to link to the product page then you just need to add in the full URL of the product page which you can obtain from the website.

If you want allow the customer to quick buy then you need to tick Quick Buy and then only add in the 4 digit stock code that is within the product page URL only.

Therefore would look like this

See example of how a Quick Buy option shows:

You can use this program to create a Shop by Player carousel or a department carousel.
