Till and Customer Order Promotions Maintenance - Group Freebie Promotion Setup Guide

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to set up a Group Freebie Promotion, which combines the "Mix and Match" and "Buy Quantity Get Something Free" promotions.

1. Promotion Overview:
- This promotion allows customers to buy a specified quantity of items from designated groups to receive a free item.

2. Cancellation/Returns:
- If an order includes a free item, it is recommended to cancel the entire order. The cancellation process cannot handle the Free Item Eligible Criteria.

3. Creating a New Promotion:
- Start / End Date: Set the dates during which the promotion will run. Adjust the end date if you wish to terminate the promotion early.
- Active Checkbox: Tick this box to activate the promotion on the website.
- Description: Enter a message that will be displayed to customers when they make a purchase eligible for this promotion. This message will also appear on the Product Listing Page for relevant products.
- Quantity to Buy: Specify the number of products from each group that must be in the customer's basket to qualify for the promotion.

4. Configuring Groups:
- Create groups for the items that customers must purchase to receive the free item. For example, to offer "buy a home shirt and shorts, get socks free," create two groups: one for shirts and one for shorts, with socks designated as the free item.
- Multiple free items can be offered, allowing customers to select from their basket.

5. Creating a Group:
- Enter the name of the new group in the “create a new group” text field and click the button to create it.
- Ensure each item in the group is purchased in the specified quantity to qualify for the free item.

6. Front End Journey:
- Customers will see the promotion reflected in their shopping experience.

7. Reporting:
- Access the reporting menu under "Promotions and Offers Analysis" to review the performance of your promotions.
