When creating a new spend over get
something free promotion you will be presented with the below screen, with the
“select promotion group†containing 2 options (Items Excluded and Free Items).

The promotion should be set up as below;
- Start / to Date: These are the dates that the promotion will run
between. If you wish to end the promotion early remember to set the to date to
the date on which you end the promotion, this will make sure the system no
longer send this promotion to the till.
- Active tick box: Ticking this tick box will tell the system to send the
promotion down to the tills and to the website (if the branches are selected)
next time it is prompted to send promotions to the tills/website.
- Description: This can be set to anything, as long as the £ sign is not
used as this will stop the promotion from being sent down to the tills.
Whatever is entered here is what will shop up when the customer has a purchase
that is eligible for this promotion.
- Spend over Value: this is the amount you want the customer to have to
spend before the discount is added.
- Include Discounted Items: by selecting “yes†you are allow items that
may already be discounted in some way to be part of this promotion and
therefore receive a further price deduction.
- Cashier Alert: if this is set to yes, when an order is at a set value a
pop up box will appear on the till informing the cashier that the customer need
only spend so much more before getting the offer (e.g.: spend £10 more and get
item free).
- Operator alert if over value: this is where you would set at what order
value you would want the cashier alert to pop up on the till.
- Items to be excluded: any items added under here will not be eligible
for the promotion (e.g.: if you do not want customer to get discounts on socks,
you would add all sock products to items to be excluded and their value would
not be included when calculating if the customer is eligible for the
promotion).
- Free Items: items added under this selected option from the drop down
are items that you want to be able to give the customer for free if their order
is eligible for the promotion.
This page contains all branches that you have set up. By selecting a
branch you are telling the system to check if it should apply the discount to
orders placed by those branches and to stock that is removed from branches (this
is why the Warehouse branch is ticked). After selecting all the branches you
want the promotion to apply to you will need to click apply changes to confirm
to the system that you have set up the branches how you want them to be set.
This section allows you to set
the days of the week and the times you want the promotion to run to and from.
For example: if you only wanted the items to be discounted from 00:00 Saturday
until 23:59 Sunday (a weekend promotion that occurred on more than 1 weekend in
a row) you would set the start and end time as above and tick only the Saturday
and Sunday boxes, meaning that you wouldn’t have to worry about making the
promo inactive after the first Sunday and making it active again the following
Saturday.
