Upon clicking create new for this promotion, you should receive a screen similar to the below.

The promotion will need setting up as follows;

  • Start / to Date: These are the dates that the promotion will run between. If you wish to end the promotion early remember to set the to date to the date on which you end the promotion, this will make sure the system no longer send this promotion to the till.

  • Active tick box: Ticking this tick box will tell the system to send the promotion down to the tills and to the website (if the branches are selected) next time it is prompted to send promotions to the tills/website.

  • Description: This can be set to anything, as long as the £ sign is not used as this will stop the promotion from being sent down to the tills. Whatever is entered here is what will shop up when the customer has a purchase that is eligible for this promotion.

  • Discount Type: This will determine if the amount deducted is a £ value or a percentage of the price of the item.

  • Enter Percentage / Enter Value: This determines what £ amount or what percentage is to be deducted.

  • Spend over Value: this is the amount you want the customer to have to spend before the discount is added.

  • Include Discounted Items: by selecting “yes” you are allow items that may already be discounted in some way to be part of this promotion and therefore receive a further price deduction.

  • Cashier Alert: if this is set to yes, when an order is at a set value a pop up box will appear on the till informing the cashier that the customer need only spend so much more before getting the offer (e.g.: spend 0.05 more and get 20% off).

  • Operator alert if over value: this is where you would set at what order value you would want the cashier alert to pop up on the till.

  • Items to be excluded: any items added under here will not be eligible for the promotion (e.g.: if you do not want customer to get discounts on socks, you would add all sock products to items to be excluded and their value would not be included when calculating if the customer is eligible for the promotion).

Once this has been created you will see additional tabs appear and the detail states promotion not completed.

To complete the promotion you have to go into the 2 tabs and confirm the details.

Branch Tab

If you are not offering the discount on any third party stock - Fourex or Terrace then untick these.

If you are happy with the branches just apply changes.

Once this is updated you will see the another tick against the details so the final tab to update is days and times.

With the days and time it is best to keep the details as they are as the system looks at the date from the first tab so will only apply to this date. Apply Changes and you will see it states Promotion is complete.

This promotion type can be setup in different ways:
  • To offer a discount on a set of products then you can add in the list products the discount needs to be applied against.
  • Site wide Discount - just ensure you add in as spend over 0.01 to get the required discount on everything. (The SID has to be discountable for this to work on everything)
  • To offer a value discount if you spend over a certain amount. Eg.  £10 off £100
