Decal Maintenance

New decals for products are created using Decal Maintenance which sits under Customer Order Setup. 

This program will show existing decals and allow you to amend them with the Edit button.

To create a new decal click Create New at the bottom.

The decal name is used in the back office for locating the decal. The label text is the actual text that will show on the website and may be different from the name.

The category makes it easier to find the desired decal later by filtering on only the ones for the relevent page you are loading them into. For example if you choose promo as the category, it will only show promo decals in Promotions Maintenance. The general category is for the standard tags, new in, offer and sale.

When you change the label text or text / background colour, it will render the decal on the example image.

Clicking reload without saving will reset all elements on the page without saving to the database.

Pressing update/insert will create or save the decal details.

Loading General Decals

General category decals can be loaded in the Image Flashes tab of Web Pages And Email Text Maintenance.

Next to each existing image flash for new in, sale and offer, there is a new Load Decals link that will open the decal selector popup.

You can have both a image flash and a decal at the same time if you want. These decals will apply the same rules as the image flashes, so the new in decal will show on the same product the new in flash will show on.

When you click Load Decals you will be given a list of decals to choose from. Click the radio button or decal name and click select to choose this decal to assign against each image flash.

After selecting a decal, it will show the image example on the screen. If you want to keep it you need to press Apply Changes as it has not yet been saved to the database.

If you want to choose a different decal you can click Change Decal or if you don’t want to use any decal you can click Remove. You must always press Apply Changes after any change, including after removing a decal.

A new configuration allows suppression of old Image decals when new ones are enabled, reducing visual clutter.

Catalogue File Maintenance

Here you can add a decal to an individual product, which is overwrite any general or promotion decals. Click the Load Decals link and you will get a list of product category decals to choose from.

Choose a decal and click select. 

Click apply changes to save the decal to the product. 

You can add decals to all types you can currently add an image flash to. All except spend overs and retrospective.

Like with the general and product page decals, you can load a decal against a promo. Promo decals will override the general decals unless a product in the promotion has a product specific decals already setup.

1. Once the Decals are created - are we be able to delete it or allow change of category?

A. No, once decals are created, they currently cannot be deleted or reassigned to a different category.
