The Stocktake Freeze program tells the system to stop adjusting the stock of an branch until the stocktake is committed to the system.
Stocktake freeze should be used when you are ready to enter all of your figures for stocktake and are sure that the stock levels of the branch you are stocktaking will not change until the stocktake is committed, otherwise you will see discrepancies once you have finished the stock take.
You will need to select from the drop down list which branch you want to freeze, this should be the branch that you are about to count. If you have already frozen the branch then it will not appear on this list.
Select the freeze date
The next step is to set the date that the stock levels need to be frozen from. This should be set as the date you are doing the stocktake for the branch in question and should be set up on the day you are wanting to freeze the stock as this should be the last day you make a sale from the branch before committing the stocktake.
Select which departments you want to freeze
Finally, you will need to select which departments the freeze will affect. If you are wanting to stocktake the entire branch then this can be left as “all.†However there may be scenario’s in which you are only wanting to stocktake a certain department of the branch; i.e.: printing, so that all letters, numbers, nameblocks, etc. can be counted.
