What is the Stocktake Entry Program?

Stocktake Entry is a program that allows you to enter manually counted quantities against products selecting them either by bin location or by department.

When should you use the Stocktake Entry Program?

Stocktake entry needs to be used if products have been counted manually; either by just writing down quantities on a piece of paper or, the recommended option, would be to use the stocktake sheets printing program to print off your list products.

Steps to use the Stocktake Entry Program.

1) Choose branch you wish to enter quanities against

2) Choose enter counted quantities by option

- Location (see step 3)

- Department. (see step 4)

3) Choose Bin Location

4) Choose department

5) Enter counted amount against each product

Choose Branch

The first step once you have gone to the stocktake entry program (through the stocktake menu on the back office) is to choose the branch you wish to enter your counted quantities against. The drop down list for this section will only include branches that have been frozen in the stock freeze program.

Choose enter counted quantities by option

The next step will be to decide what format you want the counted products to be ordered by either by Bin location or by department. If you use the Stocktake sheets printing program it is recommended to select the same option here as you did in the sheets printing program.

Location

If you choose to do stocktake entry by bin location, once you have selected “location” you will be presented with a box that allows you to enter a Bin location.

You can either leave this blank and items with no bin location for this branch will be loaded, manually enter the bin location or click search and find the bin location from the list that opens.

Department

If you are wanting to set your stocktake entry by department, when you select department, you will be presented with a drop down containing all your departments, simple select the department you are set to count.

Enter counted amount against each product

Once you have chosen either Location or Department and clicked next you will be presented with a screen similar to the below that will enable you to enter the counted amounts of each product. The below example is for where location is selected but no location is entered in the Bin location.

Once you have entered the figures for all products you will need to scroll to the bottom of the list and click “update” this will add the entered figures to the stocktake counts, which are then committed through Stocktake Valuation and Update.
