Sympos GO User Guide

Sympos GO User Guide

Getting Started

If your device has a 4G SIM card, you can start using the device straight away. Simply press the SymposGO/Jonas Sports button in the middle of the screen

If you need to connect it to the internet, press the 'Hamburger' button (Three Lines) in the top right of the screen, and choose Wi-Fi settings.

You can now choose the relevant network, and enter the appropriate password.

Although Sympos GO unites can be used offline for cash and standard payments, you will need to have connection to the internet to take card payments, receive updates and send sales for reporting.

Logging In

Once the Sympos Go screen loads, you should see the log on screen.

You can now enter the Operator Pin Code by pressing the PIN Code box.

If you have new data waiting to be applied to the device, it will now update. If this happens, you will be able to see a loading spinner for a few seconds.

To manually update the device, click the 'Hamburger' (Three Lines) button in the top left corner, then click the Refresh Data button:

The Home Screen

You will now load into the Home Screen, which will contain a mixture of products and departments, depending on the setup. If want any more products or groups of products to show as one-shot buttons here, let us know.

If a product is unable to be scanned, make sure the Sell on Sympos checkbox is ticked on that product within the back office:

Pressing the Barcode button located in the bottom left corner of the screen will trigger the back camera and scanner to scan barcodes.

The basket section just below the barcode icon will display the running subtotal, the number of items in the basket, and the last item which was scanned.

The Card Pay button in the bottom right corner can be pressed to quickly load the Chip and Pin software to speed up the sale process.

Transaction Summary Screen

Pressing the basket section on the home screen will take you to a Transaction Summary Screen. Here, you will be able to amend or abort a transaction if required.

By selecting a specific product on this screen, you will be able to make further changes, such as changing the quantity using the plus and minus buttons on the left hand side. You can also correct a line from the transaction (delete/remove it) by swiping right on that product.

To manually search for a specific item to add it to the transaction, you first need to sign into your user.

Then, click the hamburger icon (should be in the top left/right of the screen).

The 'Functions' option should be visible and after clicking that the ‘Product Search’ option should be available.

Paying By Cash

Upon choosing the cash payment option, the below screens will follow:

Refunds

To perform a refund, log on as a user who has the privileges assigned to issue refunds.
Press the hamburger icon located in the top left.

Press Refund (to cancel, press the button that says sales to go back to sales mode)

You will then be in Refund Mode & you will see a Banner at the top that says REFUND. Close the hamburger by pressing the icon in the top left. Pressing products will now add them negatively.
You will notice the subtotal is negative.

Once you have selected the products to refund go to the payment screen. On the payment screen press the payment type you will wish to refund to, if Chip & PIN the customer will need to present their card or insert their card. The receipt will state REFUND at the top & the refund has been completed.

Transaction Viewer

At the bottom of the screen select the Transactions icon.
You will now see the transactions screen; the default view is closed transactions with active on another tab.

You will now see a list of closed transactions from the last 7 days, they are ordered with the most recent at the top. To see older transactions just scroll down.

The closed transactions show the operator’s name, transaction id, transaction label details, date & time the transaction was completed & the total value of the transaction.

Logging Off

From any page, you will be able to click the hamburger icon which will be located in either the top left or top right of each screen.
Upon pressing Log out, you will be prompted are you sure? Choose yes & you will be logged out & taken back to the Log On screen.
If you have some products added to the basket you will be warned that you have an open transaction, if you carry on logging out those items will be voided off & not be there when you log back in.

End Session

Performing an End Session will clear down the sales and print out the Z01 report. So it is advised for this to be the very last thing done on the device each day of trading.

To perform this, you will first have to be logged on as a manager or supervisor. If you want a specific member of staff to be able to do this and they do not fall under these operator groups, let us know.

Now, select the Hamburger (three Lines) icon in the top left. Then press Administration, followed by End Session.
