Basic Guidelines for Report Usage
Some reports have a relative date filter as shown below. First
Select relative dropdown (e.g., "Next"in the first dropdown field) to choose a relative date option like "Next," "Last," or "This," depending on your needs.
Set the Duration: Enter the number of weeks, months, or days (e.g., "1" in the second dropdown field) to define the range.
Adjust Units: Use the dropdown next to the number (e.g., "Weeks"in the third dropdown field) to select the appropriate time unit (e.g., Days, Weeks, Months, Years).
Review the Date Range: Check the preview or applied date range (e.g., "05/09/2025 - 11/09/2025") to ensure it aligns with your requirements.
Below date filter uses “From Date†(left dropdown) and “To Date†(right dropdown) to filter the report based on the selected date range.
Dropdown filters, like the one shown below, usually allow multiple selections. However, if only one option can be selected by default, holding down the Ctrl key will enable selecting multiple options.
At the top right corner of each visual in Power BI, there are set of small icons. These allow user to interact with the visual by drilling up or down through different levels of data. These icons are only visible if the visual supports drill down.
Up Arrow (Drill Up): Moves back up one level in the hierarchy (e.g., collapsing an expanded data point such as a replica kit).
Down Arrow (Drill Down by Selection): After clicking this icon, you can select a specific data point to drill down into its details.
Double Down Arrow (Drill Down One Level): Drills down one level in the hierarchy across all data points each time you click it.
Branching Down Arrow (Drill Down with Hierarchy): Drills down one level while preserving the hierarchical context, showing related data in the next level.
*Clicking on any data point, whether in a chart or a matrix/table, will filter the other visuals in the report. This can be used to focus on specific information, such as the successful scan times of a particular booking reference.
