There are multiple ways in which free PnP can be set up, you can either set it up to be free for all orders, all orders but only free for certain delivery types or set up free PnP for a specific spend over value.
Delivery Options Maintenance
For a specific delivery the option found within Delivery Options Maintenance under Customer Order Setup is found within Service Charges > Free PnP offer and shows the following:
A table will show all of the services that are in the back office and you just need to set a from and to date and select the applies check box.
All you will need to do is set a start and end date for each service you wish to provide free pnp for, ensure the 'applies' box is ticked for that specific service and click update.
Spend over and get Free Shipping
If you are wanting to set up free PnP dependent on the delivery service the customer chooses but only if they spend over a certain value. You can set this up by changing the values in service charges under Delivery Options Maintenance. This would be a generic value for example if you spend £100 or over you get free shipping.
Click into Service Charges under Delivery Options Maintenance - then click into the service - for example Standard UK Delivery
Add in the upto value then the charge that would applied up to that value. So for this example if they had an order that was £99.99 then they will be charged £5.95
If the order value was £100 no charge will be applied for postage.
Promotion Maintenance
To set up free PnP in promotions maintenance you will need to set a
promo code and description to allow for the promotion to be registered by the
system. As well as this you will need to set a valid from and to date, so the
systems knows when to start and finish the promotion. You will also need to
tick the 'active' tick box to tell the system you want this promotion to run.
If you want the promotion to run for all customers, the only other thing you will need to do is ensure the 'free PnP' box is selected. The promotion should look similar to below.
With the promotion set up as above, the customer will need to enter the
promotion code for the free PnP offer to apply. If you want the free postage to
automatically apply to orders, you will need to tick the box automatically
apply to all web orders. If the option Only Valid to specific customers is
available to you, then you will be able to set up a customer group of specific
customers and only apply the promotion to them, to see how to set up groups
please refer to; Setting promotion only valid to
specific customers.
Another option available in the above example is only valid to season
ticket holders. If this option is available to you then you can tick this box
and it will allow the system to check your customers to see if they are season
ticket holders and only apply the promotion to them.
You also have the option to set the free PnP Apply to Selected Delivery Countries Only. Should you wish to provide a web based promotion to only certain areas of the world (e.g.: only available to Europe) then you will need to tick this box. Once you have selected this option you will be presented with a list of delivery countries and you will need to tick all the ones you want to provide the promotion to.
