Creating and Selling Gift Cards Online


To setup a gift card that can be sold online we need to create the gift card as a product (unless already created).

Please search for "gift" or "gift card" in Stock -> Enquiry or Amendment to find out in the product is created.

The product should have Gift Card checkbox selected. This can be added from Stock -> Stock Amendment -> search for the gift card product and the option can be found under SID Details and then use Apply Changes button at the bottom of the page.





Also in Stock -> Amendment make sure that the product is set as non stock holding item under Stock Details tab. 





Once the product is created the rest of the setup can be completed form:
File Maintenance -> System Configuration ->  System
Once there scroll down until you see the Gift Card options (see below).






The assigned barcode comes from the product created as a gift card. Barcode can be found in Stock -> Enquiry -> search for the product and the barcode can be found under  Barcodes tab.


Minimum value can be set in the next field. The above example will require a minimum sell for a gift card to be £10.00


Gift Card multiples will allow the customers to use increment of the value set (e.g. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and so on).


The last option is used to enable and disable the redemption from the website.



NOTE:
The gift card product should be set as Sell On The Web and linked to a department/sub-department so it can be displayed online as any other product.


Gift cards cannot be configured with an expiry date.
