Configuring Product Row Display on Product Listing Pages (System-Wide Setting)

This article explains how to configure the number of products displayed per row on Product Listing Pages, using the System Configuration settings. This configuration is applied system-wide, meaning it affects all categories and product listings across the site. It also includes options for both desktop and mobile views, allowing you to tailor the layout for different devices.

Overview

The system allows you to display between 1 to 5 products per row, depending on screen size. This flexibility helps you balance visual impact (larger product images) with product density (more items visible at once).

Important:  This setting is not category-specific it applies to all Product Listing Pages across the site.  



Steps to Configure Product Row Display

  1. Log in to the Admin Panel
    • Ensure you have the necessary permissions to access system configuration settings.
  2. Navigate to System Configuration
    • Go to:
      File Maintenance > System Configuration > Web Specific tab
  3. Locate the Product Row Display Settings
    • In the Web Specific tab, find the section for "Listing page Default Number Of Images per Row"
  4. Set the Desired Number of Products per Row
    • Desktop: Choose between 3 and 5 products per row.
    • Responsive: Choose between 1 and 3 products per row.
  5. Save Your Changes
    • Click Save or Apply to confirm the new configuration.
  6. Preview the Changes
    • Visit a Product Listing Page on both desktop and mobile to verify the updated layout.

Tips

  • 3 products per row: Larger images, ideal for showcasing premium or visually rich items.
  • 4 products per row: Balanced layout, commonly used across most sites.
  • 5 products per row: More items visible at once, suitable for broad catalogues.
