If you are wanting to create an offer for just online in which you provide a money based discount for all products the best promotion for you to create will be to create a 'Value' offer Type under customer order setup -> Promotions maintenance v2. 

Below will explain what each field of the promotion does and when you should or shouldn't use them.


NOTE: After completing the promotion you will need to click 'Insert' for the promotion to be registered by the system.

For any promotion to be set up it is best to use Promotion maintenance v2 which will want you to set up the Promotion Group first. Even if you want to set up a single code.




Click on New+




Now to set up the details of the Promotion 



  • Promotion Prefix - This can just as simple as 10OFF - £10 off £100 spend
  • Quantity - 1 if this is just one single code for the website. 
  • Promotion Description - This can be set to anything, but will be shown to the customer when they apply the promotion to their order.  £10 off £100 spend
  • Offer Valid from - date you want the promotion to start. 
  • Offer Valid to - date for the promotion to end (this will be until 23:59 of the date entered)



  • Offer Type - select Value from the drop down menu. 



  • Discount Value - 10 (no pound sign required)
  • Spend Over Amount - for the example this would be 100 as it is spend over £100 and get £10 off. 
All other areas can be left as not required., just need to click insert to add the promotion. 







Other areas you may want to use for different promotions. 




  • Valid one per Person only - If this box is ticked then the promotion will only work on 1 order for each customer reference, but would not stop someone from creating a second account and using the same code.

  • Valid one time only - This particular setting for the promotion means that the promotion code will only work once, so it therefore not suggested for single code promotions as only the first customer to use the code for the promotion will receive this. It may be a good idea to use this on multiple code promotions as it means that customers cannot use the code then pass it onto people who don't have a code for them to use.

  • Only Valid to Season Ticket Holders - It is also possible to set a promotion so that it is only available to your customers who are season ticket holders. If you have ticked this box for a promotion and want to ensure a customer is a season ticket holder you can do this through customer ordering -> customer order enquiry / management. You will then need to find the customer using either an order number, surname, address line, etc. After you have found the customer you will need to click select, then amend details and this will take you into the customer's details.



If you then scroll to the bottom of the screen, there will be a yes or no tick box next to 'season ticket holder.' This determines whether or not the system considers a customer a season ticket holder.




  • Only Valid to Specific Customers -  You will need to tick this tick box if you are only wanting to provide the promotion a certain group of customers. Once this box is ticked it will give you a drop down of the customer groups you have available. To see how to set up customer groups see; setting promotion 'only valid to specific customers'. 

  • Apply to Selected Delivery Countries Only - Should you wish to provide a web based promotion to only certain areas of the world (e.g.: only available to Europe) then you will need to tick this box. Once you have selected this option you will be presented with a list of delivery countries and you will need to tick all the ones you want to provide the promotion to.
